WebGreenpeace states its goal is to "ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity " [3] and focuses its campaigning on worldwide issues such as climate change, deforestation, overfishing, commercial whaling, genetic engineering, and anti-nuclear issues. WebGreenpeace was formed in the early 1970s and to this day continues to play a major role in leading the movement for environmental change. One of Greenpeace’s first campaigns was the campaign to stop whaling, which began in 1973. The two biggest leaders of Greenpeace’s anti-whaling campaign were Paul and Linda Spong, a married couple.
